Belfast City Council have teamed up with the Ulster Wildlife Trust (UWT) to create Watch This Space, a project which encourages children and their families to enjoy their local parks to develop their knowledge of biodiversity.
Activities include mini-beast hunts, tree planting, seed collection, games and crafts and bird identification.
Resources for teachers
As part of this project, we have produced information which teachers can use in classrooms. Resources include activities, games and worksheets, and have been divided according to season. Topics covered include tree and wildflower identification, minibeasts and fun activities to encourage children to engage with the natural world.
