With a slight glimpse of spring on the horizon, now is the perfect time to get outdoors and get ready, steady, to grow your own fruit and vegetables! Start your planning now by enjoying one of Omagh District Councils ‘Grow Your Own’ one day courses on Wednesday 6th March at MACCA, Omagh or Wednesday 20th March, Glenhordial Permaculture Farm.
These comprehensive one day courses are ideal for beginners to get started in their gardens or at local allotments and perfect for those who need a refresher and some inspiration! The course will cover planning your garden, ground preparation, rotation, soil fertility, practical demonstrations and seed sowing. Participants will leave inspired to start growing their own healthy fruit and vegetables and take home some thorough notes and healthy recipes.
These ‘Grow Your Own’ courses are part of the Healthy Towns Programme funded by the Public Health Agency and aims to increase physical activity and improve the health of the participants within the Omagh District area.
