Lough Shore Park in Antrim is a good access point to Lough Neagh, the largest freshwater lake in the British Isles. The area around the Lough is one of the most important bird habitats in Western Europe and it provides a home for thousands of wildfowl as well as a large-scale eel fishing industry.
This pleasant open park includes a pretty riverside walk to Antrim Castle Gardens. Common Tern return from Africa to breed on the disused torpedo platform each spring. Look out for the Terns around the Lough shoreline in the Spring and Summer time.
