Cranfield Bay is on the shores of Lough Neagh, this give you an opportunity to watch out for some of the wetland bird species that depend on the Lough – the gracious Great Crested Grebe, Common Tern fishing in the summer and many wildfowl using the area in winter such as Pochard and Tufted Duck.
Cranfield is a very small grassland area around the site of Cranfield Church, a 13th Century ruined church and St Olcan’s Holy Well, that is believed to have healing properties. The site has tall Species-rich Hedgerows where Tree Sparrow can be seen in flocks with House Sparrow.
