In 2012 The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) award of a £48,000 grant to support a partnership of 13 local councils as they equip and train the next generation of biodiversity recording and conservation volunteers. This new project will enable local people to learn more about and connect with the biodiversity of their area.
To kick start this two year project we held a series of themed events throughout 2012; Ready Steady Get Buzzing, looking at the biodiversity that is found in your garden, Butterfly Marathon exploring our wonderful and diverse native butterflies and AcroBATics dispelling the myths and celebrating our bats.
A series of fun events brought everyone closer to our native wildlife and how recording our biodiversity can be fun, easy and help in its conservation.
