Whether you’re nuts about bats or just want to find out more, then come along on this family fun bat talk and walk at the Bush Salmon Station, Bushmills. Uncover the exciting nocturnal world of bats and their amazing acrobatics at this riverside location. This event will help to dispel common myths, highlight conservation issues and explore what action we can take to help bats. As an added bonus the hosts, DCAL, will conduct a short tour of the Salmon Station. Participants should wrap up warmly and PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN TORCH. Numbers are limited to 20 persons by pre-booked ticket on a first come basis. Join Robin Moffitt of the NI Bat Group as she introduces you to some of Northern Ireland’s cutest and fluffiest mammals – BATS! Learn about their fascinating lives before venturing outside into the grounds of Carnfunnock armed with torches and bat detectors, to try and spot our own resident bats flying overhead (weather permitting).

This longer event offers the enthusiastic rambler an opportunity to undertake some 6-8 miles of hill walking within the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The route includes a section of The Moyle Way and passes close to Slieveanorra Forest Nature Reserve. There will be the opportunity to ascend to the summit of Slieveanorra itself (508 metres) to appreciate the panoramic views (weather permitting!). All walkers should bring a packed lunch and warm, waterproof clothing.
Not suitable for young children.

Glynn Halt is an excellent vantage point over Larne Lough in an area in which many birds gather. The event is open to all, whether this if your first time bird watching or you are an experienced and seasoned bird watcher. There will be bird experts on hand to help with identification, and telescopes, ID guides and binoculars will be available on the day. You will have all you will need if you are new to bird watching, and would like to give it a try. Hot Christmas food and snacks will be available to keep everyone warm.
Rea’s Wood BIG Spring Clean

Where? A transport service will be provided for volunteers, picking up from Lough Shore Park, Antrim.

Join us at White House, Gideons Green on Saturday 14th May to learn how to make amazing wild garlic pesto! The workshop will start at the White House followed by a walk in Glas-na-braden Glen to collect your own wild garlic. Then we will return to the White House to make the pesto!
